The series THRESHOLD emerged from the isolation and limitations of the pandemic. My bedroom became my studio again, prompting me to reinvent my painting practice. I began experimenting with fluid acrylics, inks, and finding different ways to apply them. The initial challenges of revamping my process began to merge with a daily dose of inspiration I found looking through my window. Light would poke through the gaps in the bushes, similar to being in a forest with light shining through the canopy. The pockets of light glowed on the otherwise unremarkable surface of the blinds. I was aware of my surroundings but drawn to the outside: daydreaming, feeling momentarily suspended.
